Gym Rock

Gym Rock is the finest steel framed, seamless textured surface geodesic wall system available at any price. We like to say that if you can imagine it, we can build it with this system. Each project is custom designed in cooperation with each client. Once a design is finalized, geometrically shaped steel panels are fabricated and installed much like a 3D jigsaw puzzle. These panels are placed on superstructure independently engineered for each project. Each panel has a purpose, transforming simple triangles and rectangles into dramatic arches, caves, arêtes, dihedrals, spires, cracks and stalactites. This framework is then covered with excellent quality plywood, cut to fit each individual panel. Finally, a special two-part surface texture is applied, stamped, and painted to provide an incredible looking seamless finish. More importantly, this texture has amazing feel for climbing. The granite-like material can be molded into holds in places where traditional holds cannot be set, like the outside edges of arêtes or the very inside of dihedrals, and provides excellent traction for smearing and edging techniques.Our framed wall systems are the ultimate solution for any serious indoor climbing facility.  In terms of versatility, durability, and adaptability, framed wall climbing surfaces are absolutely second to none.

At the base of all framed wall systems is a free-standing and self-supporting steel frame.  Constructed of custom designed square tube and angle steel, our unique steel framing system allows your wall to take on nearly any shape, at any angle, at any height.  The result is a wall that is only limited by the size of your facility and the depths of your imagination. 

After constructing a totally custom built wall frame, Rockwex finishes the wall with an equally impressive paneling system.  Every panel is made from ¾" high quality plywood.  We drill and attach a threaded connector (T-Nut) to the back of the panel that allows for the climbing holds to be bolted on.  Other companies hammer in a pronged T-nut that can push or twist out over time.  Our t-nut system is custom designed and hydraulically press stopping any chance of them stripping out.   

Near the end of the construction process, panels are coated with a proprietary texture – once dry the texture is twice as strong as commercial concrete.  Aside from extreme durability, this unique texture is formulated by climbers for a perfect friction.
